Diamond Education
Choosing the perfect diamond is an important decision, and understanding the key characteristics of a diamond helps you make the right choice. Diamonds are evaluated according to internationally recognized standards known as the 4Cs: Cut, Colour, Clarity and Carat. These factors determine the beauty, brilliance and value of a diamond. At Rossa Diamond, every diamond is carefully selected to meet high quality standards so that each piece offers exceptional sparkle, elegance and long-lasting value. Our diamonds may also be certified by respected gemological laboratories such as GIA and HRD Antwerp, ensuring authenticity and quality.

Carat
Carat refers to the weight of a diamond, not necessarily its visual size. Larger carat diamonds are rarer and therefore more valuable, but the way a diamond appears can also depend on its cut and proportions. Two diamonds with the same carat weight may appear different in size depending on how they are shaped and polished. Choosing the right carat weight is about finding the perfect balance between size, brilliance and personal style, ensuring the diamond looks elegant and harmonious when worn.

Cut
The cut of a diamond is the most important factor influencing its sparkle and brilliance. A well-cut diamond reflects light internally and returns it through the top of the stone, creating the fire and brilliance diamonds are famous for. Cut grades generally range from Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair and Poor, with higher grades producing stronger light performance and sparkle. At Rossa Diamond, we prioritize diamonds with superior cut quality to ensure every piece delivers maximum brilliance and exceptional visual beauty.

Colour
Diamond colour actually refers to the absence of colour in the stone. The most valuable diamonds appear completely colourless, allowing light to pass through them without distortion and creating maximum brilliance. The colour scale ranges from D (colourless) to Z (light yellow or brown). Diamonds in the D–F range are considered colourless and are the most rare, while G–H diamonds are classified as near-colourless and appear perfectly white to the naked eye while offering excellent value. At Rossa Diamond, we select diamonds within high-quality colour ranges to ensure beautiful brightness and visual purity.

Clarity
Clarity describes the presence of tiny natural characteristics inside a diamond known as inclusions and blemishes, which are formed during the diamond’s natural creation deep within the earth. Most of these characteristics are microscopic and invisible without magnification. Diamonds are graded from Flawless (FL) to Included (I) depending on the visibility of these features. Diamonds with VS or SI clarity grades often appear perfectly clean to the naked eye while maintaining excellent value. At Rossa Diamond, we carefully select diamonds that maintain exceptional beauty and brilliance while preserving natural authenticity.
